In this topic, you will learn the definition of yoga according to Patanjali. You will also have an understanding of chitta, vrittis of the mind, and how to control it. You will also go over the nature of god according to yoga sutra. You will understand what is kriya yoga and ashtanga yoga. It will also cover the five kleshas, obstacles of yoga practices, and how to control these obstacles. There will be an overview of siddhis and the influence of karma according to Patanjali.

During your course, this topic will cover the important text of the Hatha Yoga Pradeepika. Hatha Yoga will be defined and its aims. Under Hatha Yoga understanding the background and implementation of Hatha Yoga in modern age as well as preparation of asana will be discussed. You will also cover topics on samadhi and nada anushandhan. 

The topic of Gheranda Samhita involves a brief understanding of the Sapta Sadhana. From there, you will dive into the cleansing practices of the shatkriyas, asanas, mudras, pratyahara, pranayama, dhyana, and finally, samadhi. 

To understand the kundalini upanishad, you will learn the 7 main Chakras, intro the 14 major Nadis, as well as intro to 10 subtle pranic energies. Included in this topic is an intro to understanding the 5 Koshas or sheaths.

Here, you will begin introspection covering topics of the mind by discussing and implementing practice to discover different kinds of consciousness and its steps.

In this topic, you will discuss about the nature of the five elements as well as the curative power of the five elements. You will also look into the Ten principle of Naturopathy and look into what hot and cold therapies are. 

Introduction of Mantra includes learning about the connection of the the vibrations of the sounds to sanskrit mantras. You will discuss about the nature of sound and the different types of mantras as well as the four stages of sounds. You will also learn the root mantra of the chakras and dive into understanding mantras of lord sun and its vibrations. 

You will learn the true meaning of meditation as well as cover proper preparation for meditation and its types.

Ayuverda is a massive topic you will begin to explore during this training. You will begin with the definitions of the human body, health, and ayurveda. You will then look at the use of Ayurveda in modern age and discuss Ritu Charaya, Dina Charya, Ratri Charya. With Ayuverda lectures you will talk about massage and its usefulness.

It is important to understand the action and movement of the muscles as well as what is happening in muscle contraction. We will discuss principle muscles of the body (yogic point of view), muscles of the respiration ( Diaphragm, Inter costal Muscles), and go over the yogic effect on muscular system ( Asanas).

Having this topic in your curriculum will allow you to leave with a good understanding of the central nervous system. You will have an intro to brain, fore brain, cerebrum, mid brain, hind brain, medulla oblongata, and most importantly, the spinal cord. You will talk about the motor nerves track in the spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system, the autonomic nervous system, and the overall Yogic Effect on nervous system.

The Endocrine Glads discussion will include understanding hormones, the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, adrenal glands, thymus gland, and the overall Yogic Effect on the glands.

Understanding nutrition includes topics on carbohydrates, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, and water. Furthermore, you will look at the effect the nutrition of our body and include an intro to the Ayurvedic Diet. You will leave understanding metabolism in our bodies.

You will look over into the cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, and discuss cell division.

You will understand the respiratory track along with blood supply to the lungs. In order to understand respiration you will gather a grasp of muscles, mechanism, and control of respiration. There will be a discussion on the yogic effect on respiratory system. With this discussion, is a topic on how the Asana and Pranayamas help to control the mind.

You will understand organs of the digestive track including salivary glands, stomach and function of the stomach, function of the small intestine and large Intestine, liver, the pancreas, and how it all affected by yogic practice.

The circulatory system involves an understanding of blood and blood components, blood cells, coagulation of blood, and function of blood. You will know the blood group and yogic effect on blood. There will be a discussion on the heart, conduction of the heart, function, and beat of the heart. You will go over what a cardiac circle is and what is blood circulation. This will all feed into our discussion on the pulmonary system and the yogic effect on Heart. 

You will know the bones of the trunk, curvature of the vertebral column, cervical vertebrae, thoracic vertebrae, lumber vertebrae, Sacrum, and the yogic effect on all the vertebrae. You will be taught how the Nervous System works on Spinal column or the Central Nervous system.

You will learn about the shape, composition, physiological function of the bones. You will also delve on the Yogic effect on the pelvis and on the overall skeletal system of the body.


Vyasa Yoga Peeth is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 500 Hr RYS certificate.

Vyasa Yoga Peeth have two training centres located in Rishikesh. One is at Dev Ganga Guest House and the other one is at Om Blesses Cottage. Retreats on the other hand is held at Dayanand Ashram. These locations all offer the beautiful and famous backdrop of the Himalayas and the Ganga river located in the ancient Hindu town of Rishikesh.

Teacher trainings are held in a lush-green campus at the World Yoga Capital - Rishikesh. Offering contemporary amenities but with a traditional setup, Vyasa Yoga Peeth school is a yogi’s heaven. Lie in the beautiful surroundings and continue your practice at ease.

Rooms stand amid lush green environments wherein you will wake up with the chirping of birds and would sleep under the silence of sleeping Himalayas. Every assigned room is well lit, cleaned and ventilated. Proper windows and ventilators are provided, thus, inviting rushing sounds of river Ganges and gushing chilly breezes. Washrooms are clean and hygienic. Lukewarm water is available on request. The rooms are equipped with all modern facilities like showers and other basic amenities. 24 x 7 Wi-Fi connection is available and the rooms are provided proper furniture – a well spacious bed, a cupboard and a study table for a comfortable stay.

The Vyasa Yoga Peeth kitchen only serves tasty, hehy and hygienic food. Exclusively yogi food is served three times a day for the entirety of this Yoga Teacher Training. 

The menu changes daily, but ensured to always be "heh".  The menu consists of starters, salads, soups, chapattis, porridge, bowled vegetables, dal, milk, curd according your choice. Well bowled, calorie free natural food is served for dinner. Food is well-prepared by hygienic methods and it is made sure that no nutritional elements are lost. 

The beautiful interiors of the dining nook plus the window views of the Ganga river and the Himalayas contribute in satiating your hunger for a wonderful dining experience. Dining in this retreat will feel refreshing, satisfying and will give you just what your body is craving.

Lakshman Jhula is actually an adjoining bridge across the Ganga, along the old route to the holy shrines of Badrinath and Kedarnath. The Jhula has now become one of the most visited tourist spots of Rishikesh, not simply because of its ancient origin and religious sanctity, but also because of the grand temples and wonderful local market that have come to be developed around it. A thirteen story temple, called Terah Manzil, near the Lakshman Jhula, is very popular amongst visitors. The top floor of this temple gives a wonderful view of the surroundings.

Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun is the nearest airport to Rishikesh which is approximately 35 kilometres away. Popular carriers like Air India, Spice Jet and Jet Airways often have daily flights from New Delhi. Apart from Delhi, there is a flight from Lucknow to Dehradun as well. To commute to Rishikesh via land, there are tongas, taxis and rickshaws available. Whereas from other cities and states, buses and trains are operated by state transport corporations and private operators. One can also hire private vehicles to get there.
