Shades of Yoga offers you the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself not only in the practice of yoga, but in the culture and spirit of Bali, as you embark upon your teacher training in the unique and beautiful environment that is Ubud. The Centre takes yoga beyond the mat exploring all aspects of living a life of balance and harmony. With this teacher training, you get the opportunity to see all shades of Bali with its pristine beaches, rolling surf, exotic temples and palaces set against stunning natural backdrops. 

Shades of Yoga believes that in order to be the best possible teacher that you can be, it is important to approach yoga from a holistic point of view. This RYT 200-hour training course is centered on the themes of finding and connecting to your deeper inner level of consciousness and using the vibrant environment of Ubud to return to that which matters; conscious awareness. This training will focus on creating space for true inner peace and strength. Guest lecturers and teachers are invited to share their wisdom to further enhance your learning experience. They also provide a dynamic, nurturing and safe environment for you to delve deeply into your physical practice while discovering emotional transformation and heightened spiritual awareness.

Completion of this yoga course gives you the tools to transform your own life, deepen your personal yoga practice while simultaneously being a catalyst of transformation for people worldwide through the medium of yoga. Package rate covers full tuition fee and breakfast meals to energise you before your sessions.

Requirements

You are encouraged to have at least one year of practice with a qualified teacher and studio before applying for the course.

Syllabus

HOURS + TOPICS

Daily intensive asana practice will deepen your own practice and provide a solid base for your teaching skills to develop. 

The history of yoga, important texts, works from yogic masters and traditional wisdom is shared in a way to offer a deeper insight to yoga and its heritage and how that is appropriate in modern day practice. 

Anatomy and physiology are covered to offer a detailed and thorough understanding of the human body and its systems.

Sequencing skills, teaching skills, adjusting skills, extensive vinyasa sequence training, correct alignment of postures is all covered to ensure you are ready to teach.

Daily practice of meditation and Pranayama (Breathing exercises) is important in the training. An introduction as to how and why these relate to yoga and how to teach them to others is covered.

Certification

Completion of the training will provide you with a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance approved teaching certification that is valid and recognised globally.

Taksu’s class spaces are unique in Ubud and the natural setting creates an inspirational experience for all levels of practice. They have dedicated their life path and intention to set a space for your awareness of the “Taksu” dwelling within. Experience your favorite style or dive into something uniquely different… Balinese, Hatha Flow, Hatha Yoga, Gentle Flow Therapeutic Yoga and various meditation forms.

Taksu hosts teacher trainings, workshops and healing services alongside healthy living - enjoy fresh, inspired and healthy living in their onsite restaurant.

Taksu is located in a secluded river valley that runs between Monkey Forest Road and Jalan Hanoman. From Denpasar Airport, Ubud is about 1.5 hour drive. You can prearrange for a driver or there are plenty of taxis upon arrival at the airport that will happily escort you to Ubud.

Non Residential

Food

A delicious and healthy buffet breakfast is provided to students daily at Taksu (excluding Sundays off). After a morning of meditation and asana amidst the trees, nourish your body with fresh tropical fruits, nutrient rich salads, home baked red-rice, grain or gluten free breads, freshly pressed juices, a variety of warm dishes and a team of chefs to serve you eggs any way you desire, ginger tea and local coffee, and so much more.

Taksu restaurant offers a delightful and creative organic raw vegan cuisine. Lunch and dinner is open for you to explore the food at Taksu or around Ubud. The town is full of healthy cafes, local Balinese warungs and international food. Fresh juices, smoothies, raw desserts and fresh salads are abundant in Ubud.

There are international flights daily to Depensar International airport from all over the world. And the best way to get around in Bali is by car service which you can organise ahead of time or right at the airport. There are plenty of drivers awaiting guests to the country who are happy to take you directly to your desired location with a smile.
