Location

Canary Islands, Spain

Fuerteventura lies just 100km from the African coast.

There is no other island in the Canaries with as many incredible sand dunes and long sandy beaches. Even though most of the land on Fuerteventura consists of stone and rock, this island has some of the most impressive beaches in the whole of Europe.

Most come for the year-round sunshine, the biggest and best beaches and the surf. Water sports are very popular here. Every year surfers, windsurfers, kite surfers, and divers descend on the island.

Flights arrive directly at Fuerteventura airport (FUE). For a wider choice of flights, you can fly to Lanzarote Arrecife airport (ACE) and take the 20-minute ferry crossing.

Food

Bordering Morocco, the flavours of Fuerteventura are a delightful mixture of its Spanish and Moroccan cousins, with the island's location also helping growth of their own fresh produce. While primarily subsisting on meats, there's plenty of vegan options for you to enjoy.

Fresh local produce can be combined in a hearty and delicious salad; or try local delicacies like majorero cheese, papas arrugadas, and fresh fish.
